im upgrading to a SSD to replace my boot drive. how can i make an exact copy of my old drive to it so i can plug it in and take off where i left (but much faster obviously lol )
SSD im getting Samsung EVO 850 500GB

(I do have a back up PC. if that would make it easier by putting both drive in it and letting it host the cloning )
thank you :)

What size is the current used space on your C partition/drive?

about 210gb of 250gb (its an old seagate barracuda 250gb hard drive ) my pc is starting to take around 3 or 4 minutes to fully boot

Sizewise, that will work no problem.

However...the current OS on the HDD is 'getting slow'.
You're just cloning that same issue to the new SSD. It will be faster, but still gunked up.

Clean the gunk off the OS first, then clone.

sweet :) so probably easiest to put my old boot drive and the new ssd in my other PC and have it do the cloning then
