Intel USB 3.0 drivers disable all USB ports on PC

Hi, yesterday I got a new custom PC. I installed Windows 7 Professional and proceeded to install the drivers for the PC, however it suddenly stopped working. After reinstalling Windows like 3 times I found out that the problem is the USB 3.0 drivers on the disc and whenever I install them then ALL USB ports, including 2.0 ports, stop working. I have no Ps/2 mouse or keyboard, only a USB one that somehow works, so I'm stuck if I install it. Some people have recommended me to upgrade to either 8, 8.1 or 10 as 7 is really old and the motherboard fairly recent. Is there an alternative or will I need to upgrade?
In any case, I'm new to this whole custom PC scene and I want to make this PC work.

Specs

Mobo: Gigabyte B150-HD3 for DDR4
Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 3.30GHz

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
*The OS was obtained from Windows Dreamspark.

I don't see Win7 Pro on Dreamspark's list of available software, I hope you aren't trying to install win7 embedded or, even worse, some pirated version.

Your drivers are HERE.
Please notice that you have a hotfix that needs to be installed first, followed by the management engine, and INF. After the chipset ones are done, do the VGA, and then LAN next followed by the Sata section and USB3

The Dreamspark my college allows me to use has the Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1 as the main download. I don't know why would it be different but it could just be business.

Just to make sure, what do the Hotfix do exactly? I don't want to risk having the ports disabled again.

I'm currently installing the drivers from the webpage. It says that I already have the KB2685811 update. My guess is that it came in one of the automatic updates the OS was doing yesterday (over 200 updates, ugh). Should I install the Intel SATA Preinstall driver(For AHCI / RAID Mode)? It says "Note: Windows setup to read from USB thumb drive", seems to be just for USB installations.

Update: It worked. So I installed all drivers, leaving USB 3.0 for last. When it finished the USBs didn't got disabled, instead it began installing the proper drivers for my keyboard/mouse like it should do normally and the warning message at the device manager is gone.

The main reasoning behind doing USB last is that you need to do the LOW LEVEL(chipset) drivers first because they need to grab the proper IRQ's first before anything else does or else communication gets really messed up on the motherboard.
