Quick question about pci e cord.

I just installed a gtx960 and my psu has a 6pin + 2 connector. Do I use that or should I use the 6 to 8 pin adaptor the the card came with (ignoring the 2pin)?

use of adapters is not recommended

as far as the gpu is concerned 6+2 pin = 8 pin
