I recently bought a new ssd in the black friday sales, I want to move my windows 8 from my hdd to my new 250gb ssd. How do I do it and what do I need to do?
Don't try to move, it will reduce performance and increase wear. Instead, you should do a fresh install (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media) on the SSD and then transfer files after that.

You don't have to do a fresh install. There is a very easy way to move Windows from one hard drive to another.

Read the comments above, it is highly suggested to avoid using a direct HDD copy on an SSD for performance and hardware wear reasons. The best option is ALWAYS a clean install when moving from HDD to SSD or vice versa.

I've moved from an HDD to an SSD 3 times and have never had any problems. I think it'll be perfectly fine.

It's not about "problems", it's about poor decisions that WILL affect system performance in the long run. Why risk killing your SSD a few years early when you only need a few minutes longer to just reinstall?
