After having managed to figure out that my New mobo was faulty by getting a new psu and then eventually breadboarding
I got a replacement one,

Now that my pc finally remains on without turning immediatly off after 2 seconds,

Another issue has arisen!
I no longer get a display, and once my Mobo has finished beeping, my HDD makes a very subtle grinding sound

I have tried breadboarding again to see if its my gpu, its not, my rams are fine, and I have also done a CMOS reset

Im frankly flabbergasted!

I am planning on trying to boot via Windows CD installation, however that still would not solve the no display problem, as pc would still be able to boot to bios at least

Anyone have any suggestions? :(

Harddrive is about 5 years old and I only remember that its a seagate 500gb 7200 rpm

Hey man, i removed the 4gig ram stick and my pc booted!

Why might this be?

Could it simple be that because my pc had been off for more than a week that it needed some sort of 1 day charge or whatever?

Also, this ramstick works when i pop it into my old setup mobo/1155 cpu, so the ram works!

But its the same ramstick with same clock speeds, i just have a 4gb and an 8gb one

But with the 4gb attached it didnt boot

Will try again in a moment with both sticks inside, once ive backed up my hdd,
Which btw was not making the grinding noise afterall! It was just a loose screw in my case!

Thanks for all your help! Couldnt be happier!

Mixing memory models often causes stability issues, not always though. For best results, identical memory modules should be installed.

One thing that you can try is lowering the speed of the memory manually, if not already running at 1333. You will see virtually no performance hit in any practical sense.

So now i cant start windows, it freezes, i get bsod, and then it prompts me to pick startup repair

In startup repair it says that I cannot repair this pc automatically

Is this with both sticks of memory installed, or just the one? This could also be a symptom of previous failures and some system files could be corrupted.
