Hey guys I have 16 gigs of memory and I'm using 80-100% with just Firefox open. Firefox takes up 30-50% which is normal for me, I don't know if that's normal for everyone, but it's always used that much for me. But all these other small processes using up .1-1% of the memory are eating it up.

The image isn't posting so here is the link for it: [urlEXT=http://imgur.com/ZTXQUWB]ram task manager[/urlEXT]

Sounds like a virus/malware to me.
Even the bloatware rubbish PC's are loaded with these days shouldn't use nearly that much.

My PC is used for gaming only, so it's very sparsely loaded. I don't get close to using my 8Gb.
OSX is quite aggressive about loading as much into ram as possible, but even with photoshop using 10Gb at a time (of 16), there is still plenty free and the 'memory pressure' graph is always low.

Kaspersky isn't coming up with anything. I just finished one scan, about to start another.

De-fragging and optimising is essentially just shifting the data to a different place. Doesn't actually change anything.

I'd look at doing a fresh install of windows.

Actually... How can 900Mb plus ~2 pages of <50Mb = 16Gb???
Are you sure there actually IS 16Gb???
