Hello,

Today I just got KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. This is the 3rd drive to fail in 2015 alone. Yay.

I currently have a Samsung 850 EVO that I purchased in May. This is the first time I've ever gotten a BSOD from it. Before I had an OCZ Vertex 240GB that failed within a week, and before that a Seagate SSHD 500GB. I had KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR for all of these drives. How unlucky am I? When I first started getting crashes from these drives, all tests and S.M.A.R.T was saying my drive was healthy, but then eventually said it was failing.

Interestingly enough, S.M.A.R.T displays no errors, and Samsung Magician displays that my drive is healthy.

I've ran Memtest86 for 8 hours, no errors, Prime95 for 3 hours, no errors. I've had a long history with this BSOD and it's a pain that it's coming back around to haunt me. I have the same CPU/MOBO/PSU setup, so the question of could my motherboard/power supply be killing my drives arises.

Solution
The PSU that your using should probably be replaced as mentioned, but again it *may* be the cause of your actual problem. Have you tried other SATA ports or cables on your motherboard? The PSU you listed should be better than the Sentey, though I'm having a hard time find a review. It looks to be a discontinued model. It's probably an OK unit. If your drives are indeed failing, and it's not a false positive, I'd say the PSU is the most likely culprit, as the motherboard doesn't supply voltage to it. I don't think it's software as you've tried multiple OS installs, and if it was a bad update/driver, ect., you would've had problems with replacement drives much soon. Bad voltage from a PSU could however damage the components their...

AMD FX 6300 NO OC
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
MSI 970A-G46 motherboard
Sentey 750w Extreme Power Supply
MSI GTX 770

So either I'm extremely unlucky, or something is killing my drives, right?

I really want to be 100% sure before dropping $80 on a PSU that doesn't fix it. My BIOS power voltages are 100% fine. Do you have any tests you can do to determine its faulty? Sentey has 4.5/5 stars average.

Only link I could find, it's in Spanish but on Sentey's official website:

http://www.sentey.com/es/erp-750-watts

I did another thread on Toms Hardware and got around 6 replies saying Sentey is absolute trash. When I first bought it about 1.5 years ago in July 2014 I was already hesitant as it had under 4 stars. Now the product is no longer on sale on amazon nor on Newegg.

I found one EVGA 600W power supply for $39.99 on BestBuy's website, here's a link:

I've seen that same error and when opening the pc there was lots of cat hair inside.
Human and dog hair do not conduct electricity but cat hair does.
I also agree a new PSU is best bet next to making sure the inside of the pc is clean.
