I am having one hard of a time with my graphics card at the moment. So I decided that I wanted to play some GTA 4 today. I have a Levovo Y50 with a GTX 860M graphics card. Since GTA 4 is so poorly optimized for PC, I had numerous issues getting it to launch. In the end, I was getting an endless loading screen, which I tried to solve by following a video which involved placing the command "-availablevidmem" in the launch options on steam followed by my max video memory. In this case, mine was 2 GB. Now the number in the video was in MB, so I converted 2 GB to MB, and put -availablevidmem 2000.0. After launching the game, it got passed the loading screen, but then crashed while in the actual game as my video card drivers stopped responding. Apparently all I had to put was 2.0 instead of 2000.0. So I try it again with 2.0 and get the same result. So I finally said "screw it, I'm going to play some Skyrim." When I launch that, I am greeted by the same crash of my video drivers. So I restart my laptop and the same thing happens. I then uninstall my graphics drivers using the simple go to programs, uninstall nVidea video drivers. I then reinstall using the nVidea Experience application, and when I download the driver update it crashes immediately. So at this point I decide to try a harder uninstall, and completely uninstall the drivers from the Device Manager. After I do this, I go to nVidea's website (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us) and select my correct drivers and provide my correct information. However, when I try to install, it gives me the message saying "This graphics driver could not find compatable graphics hardware." At this point, I have no idea what's wrong and why drivers are not even detecting my graphics card. Thanks.
