I recently purchased a new gtx 980ti brand new I have total of two 980 tis. i noticed a bad smell coming from the PC, i took it apart and it was my second graphics card that the smell was coming from. Is it normal for new graphics cards to smell odd while under losd for the first time? I still have the plastic stickers on both cards but not sure what is it?

It isn't normal, but a small about of anything left over from the manufacturing/assembly process may have been burning off (small oil sheen on a cap, etc). If it doesn't persist and the card continues to work normally during your RMA period, you're probably safe. On the other hand, if you think it's continuing abnormally, then you may want to exchange while you can.

On a side note; that board has a secondary molex power connector for additional PCIe power in multi-GPU systems.....is it connected too?
