I recently downloaded Open Hardware Monitor out of curiosity and was surprised to find extremely high temps on my cpu.
My specs are i5 4690 not oc'd
gtx 970
asus z97k
8gbram
noctua cpu cooler cant remember the model.
enthoo pro case.
At the time of monitoring I am just browsing the net and scanning my pc, no applications or games are on either.
