So, a few years ago I had no idea what I was getting into with gaming PC's, so I decided to buy a pre-built. I can already hear you facepalming. Anyways, My computer is a potato in this day and age, only getting about 9 frames on some games and I'm ready to fix that! Sadly, I still don't know exactly what the best upgrade is, so that's why I'm here! Here are my specs:

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 8670D (upgrade)
Processor: AMD A10-6800K APU (upgrade)
I need more RAM, but I'm already going to get some more. If anyone would have suggestions, it would be much appreciated

Thanks,
Sandman

Hello Sandman, I ain't got a good pc in this age either. I had 4gb ram which is a good build since games are purely dependent on your GPU. But recently, I upgraded by adding another 4gb ram to run in dual channel mode and it certainly gets me stable fps now. I get around 20-30 fps in the latest games which is great for a very old GPU (HD 5770). So, if you wanna upgrade ram, go for it. Upgrade to 8gb ram (dual channel if possible). I need your full pc spec to tell more. Take care

Hawk

If your CPU is A10-8600K and your "Graphic Card" is 8670D that automatically suggests that it really is not a Graphic Card per se but rather integrated CPU/GPU or APU (Accelerated Processing Unit).
First of all 2 things to check:
1 (most important) if you have PCI-E slot for Video Card on board. If you've purchased pre-built who knows what is on your motherboard
2 as mentioned above Power Supply (at the very least 550W is recommended)

If you meet both criteria then sky's the limit pretty much. Btw your CPU shouldn't bottleneck it Video Card unless you buy something really high in like 900 series gtx (I might be wrong here, but I don't think by much)

You can also buy Radeon 6670 for crossfire with your APU. That's the AMD's recommended card for this CPU to run in X-fire.

Ok, since I didn't elaborate too terribly much, here it is;
Processor: AMD A10-6800K APU with Radeon
Video Card: AMD Radeon 8670D
RAM: 7.4 GB (For some reason, my dedicated video ram draws 0.6 GB from my RAM itself, would also like to know why that happens)
If you need anything else, tell me what you need because SystemRequirementsLab won't tell me anything else.

As far as I know, your system is consuming the ram and not your GPU. Press Alt+Ctrl+Del to start the Task Manager and you will notice that your system is consuming some ram for its idle usage. For more frames in games though, you may need to consider opting for a better graphics card.

Regarding your configuration, it is good but the limiting factor is your GPU which is not designed for gaming much. Here is the benchmark score of your HD 8670D.

However, for the time-being, you can still use low settings patch for video games which leverages low resolution for more FPS in games.
