Heya Community,

Lately i have problems with my PC and i can not seem to find the problem.
The PC does not post anymore. I stripped it out of the case with only the MOBO, CPU, Cooler, PSU and 1 ram stick installed. Sometimes it will post but sometime is will not. I thought i could be defective ram. I ran memtest86+ in every config possible but no errors were found.
Are there any more steps i can take to test my MOBO, PSU or CPU?

PS: I ran this config for 4 months without problem...
MOBO: Gigabyte Z97-D3H
CPU: i5 4690k
CPU-Cooler: Noctua D15
Ram: 12GB mixed ram sticks
OS Drive: Samsung 830 ssd 250gb
PSU: Corsair RM1000
GPU: R9 290x XFX double disperation
Case: Corsair 700D

Solution
Could also be a mobo problem, some capacitor not getting charged immediately thus requiring several boots until reaching its appropriate level. Had that before with old mobos at work. So at this point your best bet is to get another PSU and see if problem persists.

I do not get a beep code. The Gigabyte D3H does not contain a boot "counter" display on the mobo itself so i can not check how far it gets.... :( The screen does not turn on so no code/progress on screen. I really have nothing to get info from :|

If there's no beep code you either haven't plugged in the speaker in your mobo, or there is a shorting issue. While still breadboarding your system, test it with only mobo + PSU+ CPU (with cooler), you should get the beep code for missing RAM, then add 1x module of RAM and repeat, you should now get a video card error beep code, finally add the video card.

In one of those steps your system won't beep, then you'll know which piece is shorting it.

Oke CPU,MOBO and PSU only stil no beeps. I triple checked on touching or leaking mosfets. Nothing found. My Mobo did never make a sound so i tried to add some spreakers. But this resulted in nothing,

You mentioned that sometimes you get it to POST, sometimes it doesn't. In these last tests have you had any successful POST? if not, given your latest results, it seems that either your mobo or your CPU are damaged. Only way to find out will be to swap them with another functional mobo/cpu.

After i ran memtest i did not get a succesfull POST but i found no speaker onboard of my MOBO.
Tomorrow i will get a piezo and follow the steps again. I hope to get some beeps .
In the mean time i opened my PSU to check for leaking or other possible malfunctions, but found none.
I will post the result of the piezo tomorrow.

Oke so i got a little bit further now. Everything is assembled in the case. When i put all ram in het will not post but. In this boot loop it sometimes gives the one beep for OK. When getting the ram out and use only 1 slot. The PC will boot up. When i shut it down agian and put the rest ofthe ram in agian it boots up fine agian. But when i shut down and wait few hours it does not boot agian. :| i never seen this. It seems to be a Mobo problem at first. Then because the time difference matters afte shutdown it seems to be a PSU problem. What do u guys think?
