Basically, I'm studying photography at university, and I love the displays on the macbook pro retina screens and I have mine configured to give great colour accuracy.

What I want to do is mirror what is on my windows PC monitor to show on my macbook pro display. I've found out that plugging HDMI into macbook and into PC isn't possible on macbooks. I've looked into streaming the display over wifi but this has always lost in quality due to steaming it, making it pointless.

Any ideas?

You probably shouldn't "configure" it, you'd should calibrate it.

What you want to do is not possible. You You need to RDP to your Windows computer, which is a stupid solution. So install windows on your mac.

Configure / calibrate. You knew what I meant...

That's what I meant when i said streaming over wifi, but is degrades quality making it pointless.
My PC is alot more powerful than my macbook, but the screen is better on the macbook. So i wanted to work on PC, while having the macbook as a second screen.

Thanks anyway.

Okay i got "Microsoft remote desktop" from iTunes store, connects to my PC great, but then disconnects my PC when the mac is connected, NEARLY what I want.
Any way to have both the mac and PC running simultaneously, like a mirrored second screen?

Worked to a degree, what I basically is the mac as a second screen showing exactly what is on my PC, so i can work on PC and then sometimes look at the mac to see how it'll look on a proper screen.

That sort solution didn't really work, it made it so that the mac has a separate session to what was happening on the PC.
