Hi guys! I was buying the components of my new system when i ran to a problem. My system ia going to be using max. 490-500 watts but then i read the PSU recommendation of the GPU i have and it says it should be 750W and they recommended one that was 850W. It's kinda overkill for my system but I still think that if the manufacturer says that it needs more power then I believe it. Though I want to know should I. If it's really overkill then I might not get one that has so high wattage. My system besides the PSU:

I5-6600
Msi b150m MORTAR
Xfx r9 380x black edition
Kingston hyperx fury black ddr4 2133mhz
Crucial mx100 256gb SSD
Seagate 1TB 7200rpm 64mb HDD
Cooler master n200

Please help me with your wise comments. Also tell me why you think that way. Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Not at all. Companies often do that because there are loads of power supplies out there that cannot provide the necessary power unless a very high wattage one is used.

You'll be fine with any good 500+ watts power supply. Like this one:

Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($55.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $55.99
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Get an EVGA Supernova 650W or Corsair's RM 650i. A 550W will be enough for your system but for extended use, capacitor degradation has to be factored in. Better safe than sorry ;)

You have over 100 watts of headroom with a 500 watts power supply w/ his system. The power supply won't ever have to operate at It's peak. 650 watts is quite unnecessary in this case.

I have an 7- 8 year old 550watt Corsair running similar specs not breaking a sweat, Capacitor aging is not a big issue on quality PSU's!
