First desktop build, need help

Hey guys, I put together my desktop and got the os up and running. I updated the drivers and its running good. The only problem is when I put headphones in the audio jack no sound comes out. What should I do?

PS. My motherboard is an MSI 760gma if has to do with anything

on the mb the green port on the back should be the output for sound try the head phones there. if they work fine then in the sound panel you have to turn on the front panel ports. also when you built the pc did you connect the front audio ports to the mb port if there is one.
