Will This RAM Work for My ASRock 970M Pro3

I have an ASRock 970M Pro3 motherboard and I have one Samsung M393B5170EH1-CF8 4GB Pc3-8500 RAM module. I need some help determining whether or not it will work for my board before I purchase another so that I can actually use it. According to crucial this module doesn't exist, and my motherboard only supports dual channel so I know the stick won't work without another one. Aslo it has a heat sleeve, will that negatively affect the modules beside it that don't?

Give it a try, they mobo can run single channel just fine.

Based on those specs it will NOT work since the memory is ECC registered and the motherboard only supports non-ECC memory. This type of memory is commonly used in servers.

Samsung module part number M393B5170EH1-CF8 is a registered module which will not work with the ASRock 970M Pro3 motherboard.

The 970M Pro3 only uses standard unbuffered memory (DIMM or UDIMM); it doesn't support registered memory (RDIMM).
