I have an ASRock 970M Pro3 motherboard and I have one Samsung M393B5170EH1-CF8 4GB Pc3-8500 RAM module. I need some help determining whether or not it will work for my board before I purchase another so that I can actually use it. According to crucial this module doesn't exist, and my motherboard only supports dual channel so I know the stick won't work without another one. Aslo it has a heat sleeve, will that negatively affect the modules beside it that don't?

Based on those specs it will NOT work since the memory is ECC registered and the motherboard only supports non-ECC memory. This type of memory is commonly used in servers.

Motherboard DDR3 2400+(OC)/ 2100(OC)/ 1866(OC)/ 1800(OC)/ 1600(OC)/ 1333/ 1066 non-ECC, un-buffered

Samsung 4GB PC3-8500R DDR3-1066MHz DIMM Memory Module- M393B5170EH1-CF8 ECC registered
