Hey guys, Im trying to build a super super cheap gaming pc for a friend but im having trouble finding some cheap parts. I also have a question regarding performance in games.
First off Im trying to get an 8320 with an r9 280/280x
If i cant get it for the price im looking for Ill have to settle for a 270/270x but id rather not have to do so. If i do downgrade to the r9 270, should I just get an fx 6300 instead???
Now my second question. Im trying to get a decent mobo with and 8320. So far ive managed to find a way to get the price down to 105$, but do you guys know of any way i can get it any lower than that? Or at least finding a r9 280 for 110$ ?
I know these are some tough questions but im stuck. Thanks in advance to anyone and everyone trying to help :D
BTW i'm fine with getting used hardware, as long as everything works fine

Here's how I'd roll it my friend.

Notice it's from newegg, so at least they have a good rep. But you are talking a Radeon 7950. In layman's terms, old card, but basically the same as the R9 280 or R9 380. Which means you would be on par with a GTX 960 give or take.

I got a used one last year for about 120 and it's a great card, plus still supports dx12 etc. So you aren't losing anything really. Then grab an FX 6300 and hyper 212 evo and overclock. I have the FX 8120, the old bulldozer version of the 8320, and overclocked to 4.2ghz, stock speed is 3.1ghz. So even that...

The fx 6300 is a great CPU I used mine with a Gtx 970 Oc @4.4 ghz you honestly don't need a 8320 and what is you budget? Its about 80-100 bucks for a good 970 chipset and 130 - 150 for a decent 990 board.

Are you sure it wouldnt bottleneck something like a r9 280??
My budget is 350$ and I've gotten the price down to 390$ currently. The only reason I wanted to get the 8320 was so my friend could play gpu intensive games such as dying light

I would go with gtx 950/ r7 270 w/ fx 6300 and a msi g43 or g46 motherboard and storage is personal preference wd and seagate are a good place to start ram get 8gb of corsair/kingston/g.skill/muskin/

Ps the cpu will be fine bottle neck is thrown around to much

Board I'd look at maybe a gigabyte 970a-ud3p.

I have the older 970a-ud3 and it's a decent board for the money. Only thing I run into after 2-3 years is that sometimes usb devices quit working, don't know if it's due to high overclock or what, I press the button once and it shuts down, then power it back up and it's fine. Sometimes it works for hours without happening though. Not sure if I'm overheating the board or what. I think I may pick up a cheap pci card that gives extra usb ports to see if that solves it, as I'm planning to not upgrade until after Zen is released.
