I have a Alien-ware m17-r3 and I need to know the exact M.2 Port that it has. I have provided the manual to the model that I have. I just want reassurance that I buy the correct memory. I would like some advice also on the memory choices that I am thinking about purchasing. I have provided the links to the ones I am interested in, though that is contingent on if the slot types are compatible. Also the manual states that it is this kind of slot - [Solid-state drive Two M.2 PCIe/SATA] for those that don't wish to look over it.

From the manual (Page 14):

Hard drive: One 2.5 inch drive
Solid‑state drive: Two M.2 PCIe/SATA drives

- The Samsung 850 EVO 2 TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD would work perfectly in the 2.5" drive position.
- The Samsung 950 PRO -Series 512GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 would work in your M2. PCIe drive slots.

The 1TB versions should be compatible. All very good drive choices except the EVO 840 M.2

I don't recommend the 840 M drive, not a good investment in terms of price to performance. If you're looking at an M.2 drive, the 950 Pro really is the one to shoot for.
