This has been an ongoing issue for about 4 weeks now. After going through the common checklist and attempting other methods such as clearing the cmos and bios flashback to the latest driver. I decided to RMA the motherboard to Asus. In total it took around 12 days from ship to return. Received the same board back. Assumed it was repaired and went ahead to install everything. The problem continues to persist, and I am now completely lost at what is causing this problem.

Well my friend there is nothing wrong with the motherboard in a sense.
Why it does not work with the FX-9370 CPU though is this.

An FX-9370 cpu is a 200W Part.

The Asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 motherboard has a maximum cpu wattage output of 140W, provided to the cpu socket on the board.

In other words you need to pick a motherboard that states it can power a 200W cpu.

No two ways about it, hence why your getting the red cpu led lighting up on the Asus board.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

If you don`t believe me check out the wattage rating of the FX-9370 cpu your self.
And the maximum wattage of cpu the Asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 can power.

Anyway now at least you know what the problem is.
