Custom PC keeps freezing

Every now and then my new pc keeps freezing for 1-5 mins. I wont be able to access anything for that duration and then it will return back to normal. I'm lost on whats the problem and how to fix it. I heard that PSU or Memory could be the problem, so here's my build list. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vMGgGX . (dont worry about the components listed for the price, it was initially supposed to be a 500 budget with a monitor, but i was given 500 as a last minute gift after ordering half the stuff)

Format a flash drive for FAT32, download the latest BIOS from your motherboard's website, transfer the file onto the flash drive. Then when your computer boots, go into BIOS and there should be an update utility.

how do i update the bios?
