JUST CAUSE 3

I cannot understand why some people are having no problems and what has happened to me?
I downloaded the game, launched it and played ~45 mins on MAXIMUM settings and it ran fine, 60FPS no drops at all.
I close the game to go and have something to eat, come back and open the game again, and im getting less than 10 FPS.
I dont know if anyone could even begin to figure out what went wrong with my computer while i was eating, but give it a shot.

monitor temps, usually this is caused by overheating of the cpu or gpu

install msi afterburner and turn on cpu and gpu temp monitoring in the OSD, run a game post back with max temps


also set windows power options to high performance

Its likely that you loaded the game up on the Intergrated GPU, The GTX 980 was not being utilized. Go into your bios and disable the IGPU. This will reduce conflicts.

This has been happening to a friend who just upgraded to a skylake build. He'll open up GTA V with 75fps play for a few hours and take a break. The second time he loads up the game hes getting 10fps and running on the igpu.

Thanks for the reply,
i have monitored the temps as you suggested and the GPU doesn't go above 75c and the cpu 60c.
My PC was already in high performance mode,

Hi, thanks for the suggestion,

your description seems to be similar to the symptoms im experiencing, but, i cannot find where to disable the IGPU in the BIOS. Device manager is saying my output device is my GTX 980. If it was the IGPU interfering, would it not also affect other games aswell? becuase ive ran other games after JC3 and not had any problems?

EDIT-
I found the setting in the BIOS and completley disabled the IGPU, the game still runs extremley badly :(
I guess thats £40 wasted

Just Cause 3.
I realise that the game has only just released and is extremley buggy, but,
it was playing fine on max settings, but as soon as i closed the game and then re opened it, it became unplayable.

Have you ckecked if the "max performance mode" in the pc energy settings is enabled?
