One core 30 degrees cooler than the rest.

Under Load:

Idle:

I opened up my computer today to replace the thermal grease. I'm using a hyper 212 evo cpu cooler, and my case has relatively good airflow. (s340)

i5 - 4670k with a minor overclock: 4.2
What's going on?

Ouch those temps are beggining to get a little toasty, be careful there.

But as for the strange core 3 temps, i really dont think its accurate on that.

Compare those temps with coretemp

What about the fans? Are they OK? How many RPMs?
If I were you - I would re-install the aftermarket cooler and keep an eye on the fan speeds.

I am surprised your system isn't shutting down automatically.......

In the "under load" picture, what program are you running to put it under load?

Also: maybe EVO 212 does not lie evenly on the surface or there is too little thermal paste, thus making one of the cores hotter (although it is not very likely). I am trying to help, please do not hate my ideas ☺
