With something special supposedly coming next summer, my initial thought is to wait for that; but, would moving from my current setup of 7870s in crossfire to a single R9 390 be of any worth to me now? The 7870s can be sold for about $120-150 (total for both), and the Powercolor 390 is going for 279.99 after rebate card right now, making it a fairly cheap upgrade. Or, is it even an upgrade? There are obvious benefits of going to a single card over two, but I'm not sure about any obvious gains in gaming for games that have no trouble with crossfire. Any thoughts on this are appreciated (PC specs below). Thanks!

Intel i5-4570 CPU
Gigabyte z87x-HD3 mobo
PowerColor 7870/MSI 7870 (one or both are GHZ edition, can't remember)

Rosewill Capstone 750w PSU
