Hello,

I just bought an extra 8 gb of ram for my rig, so now I have two identical memory sticks. I tried to install them on the same color slot, but that wouldn't post, so I put them in the first two slots and it worked! In cpu-z it said 16 gigs, but single channel. How is this possible? Is there a way to make it dual channel?

Hello Batsbak, are both those ram only similar in its memory size (8gb) or also similar in its clock speed and latency? Thank you

Regards,
Hawk

AMD A8 6600K, Asrock FM2A A88X+ killer. Both sticks are the exact same model, brand speed, everything...

Clicked on solution by accident -.- sorry

I bought the same model again, so am I right to assume those would be the exact same?

There's no guarantees when mixing DRAM from different packages, even the same exact model, if both work individual, start with one, go into BIOS and try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.06, save, exit, shutdown, add the second stick and try again
