How to restore files from a crashed laptop onto a new one using mypassport?

My laptop stopped working, but I had a mypassport backup drive. I replaced my laptop and its a new computer, so I installed the mypassport utilities. On this little backup drive I have all of my system files, all my games and such.

I cant restore my laptop files to the new laptop? The files still exist on the drive, but there is no option to restore them to this computer. Below is a picture of my backup drive. "Laptop" has all my old laptop files, and "me" is this new empty computer.

In the WD Backup program this is what shows up in restore

I have a lot of important stuff on there (and my connection is trash so I don't want to have to redownload everything), any help?

I'd advise you to refer to our knowledge base for all the helpful articles and tutorials on how to use the Acronis True Image WD Edition software.

I'm really sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Backup utility! :(
I'd recommend you to try reinstalling the utility onto your new laptop and see if that will help you restore the files from your old one.
Another thing you could try is plugging the WD My Passport on another computer and see if you can access/restore the backup from there. However, I'd suggest you to re-install the games and apps, as you might encounter a lot of issues with loading and performance of the software on the new laptop.

Can I make a system image out of the files on the passport? That's all I can think of now.

You should definitely give that one a try! I'm not sure you'd be able to do it with the WD Backup utility. However, you can try using Acronis True Image WD Edition. You can find the software in the list here: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=v4SSXE
This tool can clone drives, but it also can backup the OS, apps, settings and all of your data.

I installed the program, how can I use it to turn my backup drive into a image file, or recover it?
