Hawkshot :
Actually the Corsair CX 430 is a fantastically build PSU, its one of the best PSU's within that W range, strange how all of the CX range sucks really badly about from the 430W but it does. I would recommended it.
I know this isn't statistically helpful, but I bought the CX430 and it died right away. Then, I took some time doing research and ended up with the Antec VP-450 which reviews said was much more reliable.
So if I could only choose those two parts in the post it would be the VP-500.
For POWER the quick rule-of-thumb is what your graphics card demands (if needs 2x6-pin PCIe make sure your power supply provides that, and don't use adapters such as MOLEX->6-pin).
Some Intel CPU's however don't need much power such as an i3-4170 compared to say an FX-6300 so in those cases you can easily get away with a MOLEX->6-pin if your max power is well within the limit. Say 100W for system total + 200W GPU = 300W.
So a good 450/500W power supply can power some fairly nice rigs, but if you want better advice tell us:
1) CPU
2) GPU
3) do you overclock CPU/GPU
4) Budget
Don't skimp on the power supply. It can end up costing a lot more, and sometimes can cause transient faults that are very difficult to troubleshoot.
