Just got a gtx750 ti and although I can run fallout 4 at 30 i have a major problem running indie games like Minecraft and project zomboid at more than 10/12 when I had a gt630 4gb gpu I could run these fine ,I don't get it ,any ideas?
CPU: g630 2.7ghz
GPU: GTX750 TI 2GB
RAM:8GB
PSU:500W

Minecraft runs on OpenGL and Java (pretty much obsolete now a days).

I recommend you update your Java to the latest package:
https://www.java.com/en/download/

Also when you run the game could you please run task manager to monitor CPU and RAM usage:
-Right click task bar
-Click task manager
(or press CTRL+ALT+DELETE then click task manager)
-In the task manager window click the performance tab
-Leave it running while playing, tell me if the CPU or RAM touch 100% usage

Regards

    Hi thanks for replying
Java is updated 8 .66 or something.
CPU is high ,100 when loading world (lod) and 90,95,100 when moving ,ram is only half but with my old gpu it would run okay 25fps ish how can that be? .....looking again the framerate keeps dropping from 40 to 9 or 7 and back up!

Then your cpu limited in minecraft but it's not a game worth the upgrade for

Well actually to see what my computer is like on it I downloaded the game from my very old Mojang account and I was fine maxed out on everything (including chunk distance) and at full screen mode 1080p it was fine.

I run:
-i5 4460 3.20GHz
-MSI GTX 970 4GB
-Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz 2x4GB Dual Channel 8GB kit
-1920x1080 LG monitor
-500w Corsair CX Bronze
-1TB WCD Hard drive
-ASRock Z97 Anniversary Motherboard (Socket 1150)
-Windows 7 Ultimate

I have no issues whatsoever with Minecraft so there must be a problem on your end. I'm thinking it is your CPU not being able to handle the game.

But I'm confused when you said you got better frame rate with the older graphics card.
To test this could you play the game on your new GPU and record what CPU, RAM and GPU you are getting. Then replace the card with the old one and test again, get back to me when your done.

How can this be? You say you use a GTX 750 ti? and you get low FPS mmhm ...11 Questions
1. What is your Processor? (In full name please not the g473 3.40 GHz whatnot)
2. When did this start?
3. Do you notice anything different about the game?
4. Press F3 on minecraft to see what GPU its running if its integrated you can change it easily by doing this: Nvidia Control Panel->All Programs->Minecraft->Change to High-Performance Nvidia GPU if that doesn't work then look up a solution.
5. Your GPU might bottleneck your CPU and your cpu can't keep up, minecraft is CPU dependent because it uses Java.
6. If that doesn't work go and reinstall all your drivers.
7 If you are bottlenecked then i suggest putting in your old card and wait until you get a Intel i5 3rd Gen or i7 2nd Gen
8. I'm currently running a:
Intel Core i5 2500 @ 3.30 GHz
8 GB RAM
AMD Radeon 6350 HD
and i get a solid 120 FPS on Medium settings
9. Download Optifine as that increases your FPS by 10 or 30 Frames
10. How many Ram?
11. If you have 8 or 16 GB then click on edit profile and tick the JVM Arguements and where you see the Xmx4xmx change the number to half your RAM. e.g 8=4 16=8 12=6 Good Luck
