I have an LG internal drive (GH24NS90). Every time I put a disk in it, the drive disappears from both My Computer and the Device Manager windows. If I disable and re-enable "ATA Channel 1" under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" in Device Manager, I am able to read the disk that is in the drive. If I open the drive and close it with a disk in it, the drive disappears again, but I am able to re-activate it via the above method, though this stops me from being able to install anything that requires more than one disk.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Solution
Hey there, Miss_Lana.

It sounds like there might be a problem with the SATA port or cables. You could try connecting it with different ones to see if that changes things. Another option would be to try and reinstall or update the Optical Drive's driver. You could also try it with a different computer, to see if the same thing happens.

Please let me know how everything goes.
