Hi all.

I'm not a massive technical person when it comes to computers but I can usually get stuff done that I need to. However I am currently struggling... I needed to upgrade from vista to 7 as security issues on vista were preventing me connecting to work. I borrowed w7 disc from my dad who said it would work and the company he worked for no longer needed it. Well, it did work but looks like no licence. So I bought an oem disc of my own which should be licenced but just can't figure out if and how I can install it. Help!

Many thanks,
Jon

What is the status of the computer now, is it on Windows 7 but not licensed or still on Vista? If it's Windows 7 already, you may be able to use your OEM key to activate it. Right-click on Computer, go to Properties then change windows key at the bottom of that screen. If that does not work you can see if MS can help you activate it without re-installing the system again.
