Hey guys,

My work has tasked me with building a PC for use with an Oculus Rift workflow, and so I just figured out the system requirements for all 3 softwares I'll be working with but checking memory express the amount of products is just overwhelming! If you guys can help out with a build that's somewhat future proof (in terms of memory, video card etc.) I'd appreciate it so much:

I'm looking for something hopefully around 1000-1200 max, doesn't have to be state of the art. I think my boss is having Memory Express build it based on specifications I'd provide.

Looking for
-GTX 970/AMD 290 (or better) GPU for a good value
-a quad core of at least 2.5GHz, i5/i7s would be ideal if they're not insanely expensive
-16GB RAM (is corsair a good brand? not sure what the difference is between the higher frequencies/latencies as I'm sure they'll depend quite a bit on the motherboard/bottlenecking?
-a decent motherboard that won't bottle neck any of the above and will be somewhat future-proof (as in maybe capable of 64GB RAM primarily, SLI and all that stuff not necessary)
-SSD HD optional, doesn't need to be huge because we have a lot of server based storage
-I have no idea what kind of PSU/cooling fans and all of that stuff I'd need

so any help would be awesome!! We're not gonna be building huge games on Unreal or anything, just good size environments, not highly populated at all. Just a functional build would be great!

Not with that PSU, it won't.

A build I just threw together. Should do pretty decent. I believe it has everything you requested. I don't know if you need another OS key, so I didn't include that. I chose the locked processor over unlocked because it took $70 off the price. Case is up to you, of course. I don't know if you need a wifi adapter or optical drives, so those were not included. You can obviously opt out the HDD and have just the 256 GB SSD for boot and a good amount of files to quickly access. The cooler should do great, despite its price. I have it in my personal build, the temperature ranges from 20-30C with my 4690K @ 4.0GHz with it on there. For a case, I'd recommend a Fractal Design R4 or R5. They're very minimalistic, come in both black and white, as well as mid and full tower sizes. Decently priced as well.

Oh, whoops. Completely forgot about the PSU after I started adding other things. I already had a parts list started, and that was one of the things already on it when I was changing stuff.
