Hello, i just gave a look at my amd crimson gpu settings, i got surprised when i saw that my gpu (radeon r7 250 1gb gddr5) is running under PCI Express 2.0 x8 under the normal 3.0 x16! I have no other gpu, so what to do about this?

Check your bios settings that the PCI-e slot is set to 16x or auto.
That's about all you can do, although on a radeon 250 I doubt 8x is going to matter anyway as it;s probably not even using all the bandwidth.

Even if your videocard supports PCIe 3.0, you mobo has to as well.

In any case, it´s not really a problem running uder PCIe 2.0 - it´s fast enough that it won´t bottleneck even the newest videocards.

Same issue here, I got an msi r9 270x with crimson recently updated with ddu to relive 16.12.2 and crimson shows pci express 2.0 x8 instead of x16. My mobo is gigabyte ex58ud3r rev1.0 and no other devices used with pci... Tried everything till now, clean the dust, use the second pci express of the mobo which worked at x16 for some days then I noticed it changed to x8 again, reinstall drivers and windows again, tried both win7 and win10, I haven't resolved it.... Bios also checked, all defaults apart from the xmp profile that I activated and sata mode that I changed from ide to ahci....

on some boards using certain sata ports also steals pcie lanes

check your motherboard's manual
