Good alternative to the stock intel cooler?

I am building a new pc soon and have heard terrible things about the stock intel cooler so i wanted to know if this would be a good alternative.

Nothing wrong with stock cooler if you are running the CPU at stock settings.

If you are trying to run an i7, the stock cooler is marginal... But for an i5 or less, it is fine.
It is not even very noisy. Try it first, and see how you get on.

the link you sent was for the oem copy of the intel stock cooler. the issue with the stock cooler is they it uses plastick pins and legs that can not lock right and the cooler if it not on right will run hot or fall off.

If you have room in your case (156mm) then grab a Coolermaster Hyper 212evo. They're very good for their price and very popular.
