Hi guys.
Weird thing happened to me today - I was about to use Surface pro 3 after few weeks on shelf and wasn't able to open any pages in any browsers - Firefox, Chrome, Edge. I was able to connect from Surface before without any problems. Didn't change ANY settings on router OR surface.

Well I did spend 4 hours on google trying to find out what could be a problem in this case.
I tried every solution

netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
ipconfig/flushdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR

etc etc

Manually add IP ans DNS and change it back to automatic, reset adapter, reset router, reset everything.
Was able to ping Google, Yahoo and such with 0% loss but not able to open them or any other pages in browsers.

And I feel like my brain is going to explode soon 'cos I couldn't find any solution.

I do have 2 more desktops and 3 more laptops and have no problem to use them whatsoever.
I am waiting to get a docking for surface in couple of hours to try and connect it directly to modem/router - got both in same box from verizon.

Didn't change router a bit BEFORE it starts.
After that change a lot for sure - multi resets, reset to factory, restore all setting, manually restore etc etc.
WPA2 Personal.
Did "forget" thing
Still no go.

Yep. As I said before, all computers and phones and NAS's working fine wired AND wireless.
And Surface was OK before. Didn't touch it for a couple of weeks, turn it on and here we go...

I didn't read anything about NAS's and your English isn't straight forward. I thought you meant you can try them out to check if they work. Next thing I would try is deleting the drivers and reinstalling them and if that doesn't work try connecting the surface on another wireless network to see if it works. Also windows usually has a troubleshooting option when things are not working it will reset some things for you and you should try that.

That's the problem - windows couldn't find any problems :D
Surface shows strong wireless signal, I can ping etc - everything from cmd.
But nothing in browsers. Not even connect to router.

I do have 2 more desktops and 3 more laptops and have no problem to use them whatsoever.

Guess it's "straight forward" enough, no?

Try installing a different browser and see if it works. Try resetting IE. "I have no problem to use them" should be "I have 3 other computers and they work fine on this network on wifi" What you said to me sounds like you have extra Pcs and you are willing to test them out.

also try accessing google by ip 74.125.224.110 instead of google.com

Thanks for reply.
I do have 3 browsers on Surface - Firefox. Chrome and Edge.
None of them working with direct address like "www.google.com" OR ip.
however I can ping google ip from prompt and it shows 0% loss.

I did reset browsers, delete all cookies, history, settings, add-ons - you name it.
None of this works.
But it works if I am connecting Surface directly with wire to router.
SO somewhere is a problem with wireless settings, but I couldn't find where...

Not sure if you can do a system restore to another day on a surface I know I couldn't when I tried. I can't imagine a setting that would change itself that doesn't allow you to use the internet. If you can't do a system restore maybe you can reinstall windows maybe you got some malware or something damaged a system file. It's also possible you have a hardware or driver problem.
