I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but I have 8gb of RAM in my build and was wondering if I could add to it with the same exact ram kit. It is G.skill Ripjaws X 1866 mhz (1x8) on a mini ITX board.
It's generally advised against do so but if it is exactly the same type then it has a higher chance of working. Can't guarantee it though. Only way to find out, is to try it

+1 Even identical sets with consecutive serial numbers offer no guarantees of playing nice. DRAM is very touchy, which is why manufacturers test sticks to ensure those that go into a package will play nice together.
