Hi all.

I would like to get your opinion regarding the build I am going to make.
I am quite torn between these two setup.

Which of these procie and mobo combo would be better in terms of overall usage (gaming,music production, video editing)

a10 7700k + asus crossblade ranger

or

fx 6300 + Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5


PC specs (What I already have now):
corsair h100i liquid cooler
8gb (2x4) GSKILL 1866 ram
600w psu cougar
Sapphire R9 285 dual gpu
1TB seagate HDD
Tecware Alpha casing

neither, those are both relatively weak cpus to run. one option if you plan on music production and video editing is to pick up a used xeon x5677 or x5687 and a dell t3500 mobo. this will be faster then both cpus you listed and should be cheaper too. if your build is mostly for gaming a i3 will kill both of those in frame rates

xeon x5677 or x5687 only supports DDR3 800/1066/1333 rams though, and I dont plan to buy another set of ram since I already got 8gb (2x4) GSKILL 1866 ram.


My budget for procie and mobo is just $270 max though. The cheaper and better the performance, the better it will be for my wallet. lol

you can run faster ram in the computer it will just run at the slower speed. (ram speed dosnt matter much) however you should run ram in sets of 3 for this computer so you would either need 1 matching stick giving you 12 gigs or 6 sticks giving you 24 gigs. ill post another build for your budget in a bit
