I have no idea what I am doing....attempting to build a reasonably priced gaming pc

Solution

SSD aren´t that pricy (anymore) but I included a hyperdrive which is more cheap, but still will load most used programs faster.
I included a GTX 980TI videocard, which is an absolute beast of a videocard, but you may switch it to the cheaper GTX 970 if you just wanted 1080p/1440p gaming.

Below build, will play all newer games in high/ultra without any problems.

Not included: Windows, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers.

Downgraded the CPU, cheaper motherboard, changed it to 16gb of RAM< you don't need 32gb for gaming, cheaper HDD, cheaper case, much cheaper optical drive, used the savings to upgrade you to a 980ti GPU

Suggestions would be based out from your needs.

From a quick look at your own build.

- Do need overclock at all?
- 32 GB ram is way too much, 8 is fine, 16 max.
- SSD is preferred for installing windows, games and programs.
- Do you really need bluray drive, or optical drive at all?
- Do you need wireless netcard (gamers prefer cabled internet)
- at what resolution are you going to play?

It´s generally not recommended to use anything bigger than 27" for gaming monitor, also your 4k 60" tv may not be suitable at all.
You would have to consider how fast is your ports (hdmi 2.0?) and the good quality hdmi cables can be pretty pricy.
I have a 50" samsung smart-tv I use as a 2nd monitor for watching movies and such plugged to my pc. The hdmi-gold-cable i bought was about $100 per meter.
also you have to consider refresh rates (most every 4k TV is limited to 30 hz, and you want a minimum 60) , input lag etc.

Resolution at 4K puts a huge strain on the graphics card, but a 980TI will run most games in high settings (not max) and you may want 2 graphics card in SLI/crossfire and then a powerful cpu to handle them.

Finally I will mention, that gaming on a 60" 4k screen may be quite awesome, but it´s not much different from gaming at 27" 4k screen. The thing is that you will normally sit farther away from a 60" screen, and if you don´t, you´ll quickly tire turning your head to see what´s going on in the edges of the screen.

Nope, don't need blu-ray or wireless. Don't do any overclocking: Aren't SSD's rediculously expensive?
Prob just 1920 res for now.
