So I'm considering getting an MSI GTX 980 Ti, but just wanted to check and make sure that my current system can support this graphics card. I've done alot of research myself but I'm worried for a few issues such as power consumption, and space to support the card. Here is my current setup :

Thanks for taking the time to look through this and if you answer thank you very much as well. Also if you need additional info I'll post that (If I can figure out how to).

The particular GTX980ti you picked is a very highly overclocked version which requires two 8 pin power leads. That is more than the normal GTX980ti 6 + 8 pin aux power leads.
You are looking at a potential power draw of more than 300w for the graphics card alone.
While your 550w psu is a very good one, I think you would be pushing it.
No harm will come if the psu is not up to the task.
You might see artifacts and such.

Really though, All GTX980ti cards are exceptionally strong and even a stock unit will be a big boost over your old R9-270x.

Consider buying a card with a less aggressive factory overclock.

The EVGA sc+ might be a good choice, it needs only the usual 6 and 8 pin connectors...

You didn't list your CPU, but intels are pretty low wattage.

Plug all your stuff into this: http://powersupplycalculator.net/ and see what it says. If it goes over 500W, I would consider a new power supply, as that is cutting it close, and I'm not wild about the brand, but I suspect that it will be OK.

Everything else looks good.

My overclocked 5820K paired with MSI 980 Ti gaming 6G also overclocked at 1531Mhz core and 8292Mhz on vram will drain 520W of the wall just during 3D Mark Extreme. While heavy gaming you might expect even more.
If you not planning on overclocking you might be just fine but would defo suggest picking at least 650 W psu just to be safe.
