Advice for my first mechanical keyboard

I was looking to top off my first gaming rig with a mechanical keyboard. I mainly play fps, and was wondering what the best mechanical switch would be for me. I have done a bit of my own research and have especially looked at the browns and reds. Bear in mind that I rest my fingers on my keyboard during play, and was worried that the reds would be too light for this. Any advice? I also will most likely not be able to go and test any of the switches firsthand.
Cheers.

Can't speak for everybody, but I've never had any issues with reds. Use a Corsair K95 with reds, rest my fingers on the usual WASD CTRL-Space buttons. It can lead to some accidental presses, but you'll grow out of that after a brief adjustment period probably. Will probably depend on how you actually define "rest", I don't exactly place much weight on it myself.

Main thing to consider is probably the sound, in my opinion. Reds are loud. Very loud. Lots of clickity-clackitying. Definitely a concern if you've got housemates who like their peaceful sleep.
