hi guys

im planning to upgrade my video card from the ati 6970 to a gtx 970 but im kinda worried that my cpu will bottleneck the card

i have i5 2500 non k the 1 that cannot be overclocked >......< it was cheaper than the i5 2500k and i never thought i would need to overclock it :(

i have never had any issues with my 6970 but i have decided to change to nvidia because i saw a video on youtube that says nvidia cards require lower cpu demands im not really sure about that

and if there is any other video card that you would recommend for me that would be really helpful :D

Dude you will have no problems running a 970 on that cpu, just make sure the turbo boost is on and you should be fine. The issues will start coming into play when you want to sli or go up to the 980ti/Fury X stables. Otherwise you should be solid.

Enjoy!
Have you actually tested to see if the cpu is the bottleneck?
Open task manager and leave it running while you do some gaming. Once you hit the part where you think the bottle neck is, switch back to Windows and see what Task manager says.
If all 4 cores are running 100%, then yes, you are being bottlenecked by the CPU.
But, that cpu should still be plenty good.
