I have a HP Pavilion G6 2200 which came with Windows 8 on it.

Since then I purchased an SSD and I had installed Windows 7 on it as I had a spare product key lying around and it all went well till I put my original laptop hdd in the dvd drive.

Every time I boot it comes up with a blue screen on it saying "Recovery A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed once again" I changed the boot order but nothing happens, I wiped the hdd but still happens.

Annoying as I keep having to press Esc then F9 on startup so I can choose to boot from SSD!

Any help?

Thanks

Hey there, Jackg95.

It really is an odd issue. If this is a quick boot priority menu, I'd advise you to open your BIOS/UEFI and change the settings for the boot priority from there and make sure to choose save & exit afterwards. If this doesn't help I'd suggest that you try updating or resetting your BIOS/UEFI, to see if that fixes things up. Basically there shouldn't be any reason for the BIOS to prioritize booting from a blank drive, all on its own. If the issue continues, it might be a good idea to get in touch with the laptop manufacturer's customer support and ask for assistance on dealing with whatever could be causing that.

Please let me know how everything goes.
