I plan to build a new pc in the near future, I will be using it for gaming, recording gameplay, video editing, streaming, and I want to know if I would benefit from sshd vs hdd. I already have a brand new 500gb 850 evo ssd because it was dirt cheap during Black Friday.

SSHD will boot much faster and will load programs you use a lot faster than an HDD if you're using it as your OS/programs drive. However it won't make much difference with gaming or video editing. Streaming it won't make any difference. If you plan on using the 850 EVO as your boot drive, then really there's no need for an SSHD as the other drive. Just keep the OS and programs on the SSD and keep the HDD for games and media storage.

Hybrid SSDs are only good if you use the same programs and data that is used frequently. SSD nand space on these drives aren't very big, 8GB so not a lot.

Static data is ok, under 8GB, games is ok not too large. Video editing with the frequent files changes wont be stored in SSD part.

Better off with a true SSD.
