Hello,
One of the RAM slots recently stopped working on my motherboard.
The RAM card is working since I have tested it in other computers as well as this one, in the working slot.
Here`s what I was doing.
I had plugged in an external DVD player and booted to Ubuntu off it.
Suddenly, The screen showed pixels of different colors and the computer shut off after 2 seconds.
After that it wouldn't start until it was running with just one RAM card.
My Motherboard details:
MSI 915 gvm-v
Pentium 4 HT 3.6 GHz
Ram: Transcend DDR 400 1 GB
Dyna DDR 400 1 GB.
Was it due to the different RAM cards?
It was running without problems for a year (in this configuration) in Windows.
