I am currently running Windows 10 and have a 1tb hard drive. A few days ago I had 300gb of storage left of my hard drive, then the next day when I booted up my computer I had nothing left. I have been able to reclaim some storage due to deleting some programs, however I have no idea where that 300gb went, Please help. I have tried many things online such as looking at system restore points or running system clean-up, yet I have found no evidence of what has happened. I would be very grateful of any help.

Hi there Jpkrowe,

That much storage space could be easily filled by restore points. I see that you've mentioned them. What exactly have you done? You need to delete all the previous restore points. After that, you need to reduce the space allocated for system restore.
Also, you can check this extensive guide on how to free up some storage space out: http://www.howtogeek.com/125923/7-ways-to-free-up-hard-disk-space-on-windows/

Apart from these, it will not hurt to run some antivirus/malware scans.

Hope this will hep,

Thanks everyone for your help on my issue. Having run windirstat I found out that the cache folder in AVG web tune up was using up the 300gb. It seems like it had replicated all my program files. Therefore, I have now uninstalled the program and have got the storage back. This is the last time I will be using AVG!
