I have 8GB of memory and never ran into any issues. So recently I checked my ram it it says im using 75% of my ram so 6GB. The problem is, I didn't even have anything opened. As soon as I booted my computer up, i went to task manager and it says 75%. under users in task manager it only says my account is using 500 MB. So i opened resource manager and but I still can't seem to find whats eating up my memory. Mcafee is using about 600 MB which was the highest when i sorted it. When i open a game it can go to 85% or more. A week ago, I only used around 40% of my memory when I just boot up. I haven't installed anything during the past week so I have no idea. Virus scan says no virus and I don't really go to any suspicious sites. Don't know whats going on.

Solution
Click the Windows Start button and then click " Control Panel." Type "Troubleshooter" in the Control Panel search field and then select "Troubleshooting." The Windows Performance Troubleshooter opens. Click "Check Performance Issues" located under System and Security to identify problematic processes that may be taking up a lot of RAM. It could be called system maintenance as well.

I did that. Except no program was using a lot of memory. Everything added up to 500 MB when I boot. Theres other processes running in the background and windows and what not which was why I opened resource manager. However, resource manager doesn't show anything using a major amount of memory. It wasn't like this a week ago. I have windows 10, but I installed windows 10 like 3 weeks ago and didn't experience any issues. This only started occurring about a few days ago actually. A week ago it was using about 50% which was a lot when I just boot. Yesterday i booted and it was 60%. Today it was a whooping 75%.

I went and searched troubleshoot in control panel. There was an option called diagnose your computer's memory problems. So i pressed it and it says i need to restart my PC. So i did. When my pc restarted, it was just black screen for a good 2 minutes. So i just pressed the restart button on my pc and when my pc rebooted, I was in the windows login screen but it was frozen. Only my mouse could move but it couldnt press anything. So i proceeded to press restart manually again. This time black screen and my harddrive light wasn't blinking. I was afraid my harddrive broke because I kept resetting manually. So I restarted again and this time frozen on login, did this about 3 more times and kept freezing on login. I gave up and just waited for it to unfreeze and after like 30 seconds it did. So i got into my desktop and rain meter says 21% ram usage. I was like no way. So i opened task manager and it was true. However I was afraid my pc would keep freezing on login now. So i restarted my pc and it booted normally with no freezes and when I reentered desktop I saw 20~% again. Don't know what happened but it seems like its fixed now. Thanks for the help of leading me into troubleshooting.
