Hey everyone

I just purchased a new module of 8gb DDR3 1333mhz kingston value RAM. I plugged it in to the socket and started up my pc. It would start up for about 10 seconds and then power off. No boot no post etc. Almost as if it were short circuiting. I made sure that the RAM was correcetly connected as well as everything else

My previous memory was 2x2gb DDR3 1333mhz RAM. So I'm not too sure what the problem is. Both the Kingston value RAM and my other RAM is 240pin and should be compatible with my motherboard.

Thanks

Specs:
ECS G41T-M13
1.5TB HDD
HD6870
Q8300 CORE 2 QUAD
4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
Thermaltake 650w

Solution
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your motherboard doesn't support a module of 8GB ram. It only has a maximum total of 8GB with 2x4GB. It's a fairly old motherboard.
