Hi to everyone.

As the title says, I'm having trouble with my HDD, I used to have windows 8, and suddenly appear a hard disk problem, and ask me to backup everything, I'm using a "HP Envy 17-j130us 17.3-Inch Touchsmart Laptop with Beats Audio " (That's exactly the Amazon name), and it start appearing the message, one day without doing nothing, it stop.

Little time ago, it appear again I (when you don't know, your like a child doing anything that can solve the problem without knowing) so I decided to update to windows 10. Not really a surprise, it didn't help really... I also hate windows 10, it goes slower..

But, the problem now. I download Crystal Disk Info, it says if your disk is good or bad, and sadly, mines bad, I left you guys a screenshot, I hope it help you understand what my disk has.

Now the question, theres a solution, why this happens? I think my HDD its pretty new, I bought this Pc on January 2014. also, if I have to change my laptop HDD, how the hell I do that???

pd: If it helps,i got a 1TB Disk, with 350GB Free.

New or old. I have hard drives 15 years old going strong and I have had hard drive that were 15 hours old fail.

Your's is pretty bad and i doubt it was windows 10 that is slow but how bad your hard drive it because it is VERY VERY BAD. Backup ALL your data, See if your PC is in warranty still, i doubt it is though, then go out and by a new Western Digital Black 1TB. I doub't you will be able to clone the drive with any free tools out there so you will probably have to reinstall windows and all your programs and move all your data over.

1) If you have a backup drive BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA RIGHT NOW.

2) If you do NOT have a backup drive STOP using your laptop, buy a new hard drive. GET A WD BLACK! Not a blue, green, red, purple, and...

Not a blue, green, red, purple, and don't get a seagate drive or a SSHD as they aren't really all that great as they say they are ( I know I have one). The WD Blacks come with a 5 Year warranty and are VERY reliable. That or if you got the money get a 1TB Samsung 850 EVO which also has a 5 Year Warranty.

Get the new drive, Reinstall windows, transfer your files over. You will more than likely need a SATA to USB adapter if you do not have one already unless that laptop (which a lot of 17 inch HP's take 2 hard drives) has a slot for a second hard drive, then install your existing hard drive, install windows, once windows is installed install the second hard drive in the laptop and copy everything over.

Is there a difference between laptop HDD's and PC HDD's??

I'm sorry for my ignorance, is that I've been looking for HDD's you mention, and there between WD and the Samsung there are considerable different size.

For example, the two WD black I post, what difference are in they, why one is 80 and other 70$?? I don't want to think, that the expensive one is the better one always, and in the Samsung, I don't know, it seems really small, but it says internal, it works also??

I'm sorry again, but don't want to waste money.

You want laptop hard drives or 2.5 inch hard drives. The first two are for desktops and WILL not fit in a laptop.

Here is a size comparison

And those two show the same price for me?

Also looks like 750Gb is the max for the WD Blacks for laptops. Get the WD Blue then or get a 1TB Samsung SSD. It is more expensive yes but 5 year warranty and blazing faster. Get the Samsung 850 EVO not the Pro if you go that route.
