My case has horrible cable management. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?

Hey guys,

Recently I bought the Deepcool Tesserect with the SW. Prior to building my computer, I thought that cases were the least important part of a build so I cheaped out and bought this case. Boy, was I wrong.

The case literally has only half an inch to do cable management. I can hardly fit the 24 pin, forgot all the other PCI-E, and SATA wires that I have. I have to forcefully jam the case cover and tighten the bolts before the case closes and every time I play I get worried that the wires are going to over heat and cause an electrical fire or something. So my question is what should I do? Should I just push the cables to the other side of the case and make the side panel look like an ugly mess? Should I just unhook the cover and let dust come and settle in my case? Thank you guys for the help.

Also what cases would you guys recommend for future builds that are under $100?

You found out what all first time builders found out. Inexpensive case are inexpensive... for a reason. Lack of design. Rather than mash all the wires on the backside, it would be better to leave the back side panel off temporarily while you save for a new case.
When shopping on newegg, check out the pics of the case. In particular look for the rear shot of the case. If there is no room between the side panel cover lip and the IO cutout, that is a sure sign there is no cable management room. Here is an example of one with the gap I was talking about: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352044

Sometimes you can find a case that has a "bulge" in the side panel that will allow room for cables.

Okay so I won't have money to upgrade cases for about 6 more months. So should I just keep to back cover off for that entire time period?

It's either that or move some of the bigger cables to the other side of the case. Another option if your PSU cables are sheathed is to remove the sheathing so you can "spread" out the individual wires behind the cover better so they don't take up so much room.

Okay how do you unsheath cables, cause that's how my 24 pin cable is.

By physically cutting off the sheath with a scissors. But that is a permanent work-around you can't reverse.

Yeah that's what I ended up doing. I put my 24-pin in the unused optical drive and put the other files in the back.
