I just recently dropped 2 XFX r9 390 black editions into my rig (these cards do not have crossfire bridge), however only one is recognized. The fans on both cards spin up, and I've uninstalled/re-installed my drivers but no luck. When using CCC I don't even have an option to enable Crossfire X. Even after upgrading to Windows 10, still no luck.

Enermax 85+ 850w full modular
AMD 8350 @ 4ghz
2 XFX R9 390 black editions
ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z
32gb Kingston HyperX Fury

Not sure what else to try at this point.

Solution
Ah, got the same issue when installing my second R9 290.

In my case i had to set thet PCI-Express link speed back to 8X instead of 16X. You can do that in de BIOS.

Original situation
Card 1 @ 16x

New Situation
Card1 @ 8X
Card2 @ 8X

Good luck!

Definitely connected to the correct PCIe slot, and yes the mobo is capable of supporting up to 3 cards in crossfire/sli.

Is the card seated properly? Try swapping them with each other or running them solo in separate slots to make sure a card isnt faulty or the motherboard pcie slot isnt faulty.

some mobos specify which pcie slots must be used in 2 or 3 way cards

did you read the guide and make sure your 2 cards are in the proper slots for 2 way?

also have you updated the mobo bios?

Yes, the cards are both in the correct pcie slots and the motherboard is updated to the most current bios version. Not sure what else it could be. I've tried swapping cards between slots and it doesn't seem to help.
