Help needed urgently. Pc turns off automatically after 8 seconds

I built a pc a few minutes ago, but I'm waiting on the graphics card due to no int. graphics. It's an Athlon X4 860K. I wanted to see if I could turn it on and get all fans running to at least do an atmospheric temp comparison. After 8 seconds, it turns off with no warning. I thought at first maybe it was my tx3 cooler not being on securely but after multiple attempts I decided it was on as good as it could possibly be. I decided to move it to a different room in case that outlet was bad. New outlet, it stayed on for 30 seconds but still turned off. Except this time the HDD light blinked red right before it turned off. Does this give any indication of the problem? This is my first build so I've never seen that happen.

If you have no graphics card, then I assume you have no monitor connected.
Trying to debug it without seeing the screen is going to be impossible. (Did you really expect to debug it via the flashing of the hard disk light??).

Get a screen connected to start with.

most boards will only return errors and shutdown if all necessary components aren't installed. without the post screen visible you may not be able to tell if this is the case, or something is installed incorrectly, or something is faulty

does the motherboard have a blinking LED or code visible on it for errors?
LED code will look something like this with digits displayed:
