Hi,

I have a pc I bought from Dell 5 years ago. Now the monitor broke and I am sick of the heavy tower and endless cords, I am looking for more compact alternatives.

I was initially looking for an all-in-one bare bone kit, which is like a monitor with motherboard in it. I thought I can plug my old processor and RAM in it. But I don't see them anywhere anymore. Then I thought of going for mini pc towers, but not sure if I can still use all of my components. Ideally I would still like to utilize my processor, maybe even my RAM?

Here is the configuration of my 5 year old pc:

Intel Core i7-860 processor(8MB Cache, 2.80GHz)
8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz-4x2GB
nVIDIA GeForce G310 512MB DDR3

I mostly use it for running some programs and I might need to do some image editing in the future. Any suggestions are welcome!

You're out of luck on using your current processor as there have been 3 pin layout changes since.
You're either going to look to purchase Haswell components and keep your existing RAM, or take the plunge and upgrade to Skylake (though you will be able to get boards that support DDR3 still)
